Many of us fear adding garlic to our dishes due to the not-so-favorable aftereffects it has on our breath, but few seek to find out the benefits of it, that’s what we’re here for! If you’ve been feeling a bit under the weather due to the cold temperatures outside your window you know what to reach for. Garlic has been used to prevent and treat the common cold. This is due to garlic containing compounds that help the immune system fight germs. Similarly, you can also incorporate garlic into your regular diet to boost your immune system.
We don’t know about you but our personal guilty pleasure whenever we dine out is Garlic Bread. Some of you might hate us for showing you how easy this delicious meal is to make at home.
450 grams loaf Italian bread or French bread
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
Silk Route Spice Company Garlic and Herb Seasoning
1 heaping tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions: To begin, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Next cut the bread loaf in half horizontally. Meanwhile mix the butter, garlic, and parsley together in a small bowl and spread this mixture over the two bread halves. Next place the bread on a baking pan and heat it in the oven for 10 minutes. An optional step is to remove the pan from the oven, sprinkle some cheese over the bread and return it to the highest rack. Broil on high heat for 2-3 minutes until the edges of the bread begin to toast, make sure you don’t burn the bread during this step! Now remove the bread from the oven, let it cool and cut the bread into easy to eat slices.
