Optimistic about Oregano

Oregano is a popular spice in the Mediterranean diet, it has been used for thousands of years to add flavor to dishes and to treat health conditions. Some of the ailments it has been used to treat include: skin sores, aching muscles, asthma, cramping, indigestion and colds. Oregano also provides antioxidants which help the body eliminate free radicals which are toxic substances that result from natural processes and environmental stresses. Today we are recommending this tagliatelle with fresh oregano pesto recipe!

Ingredients:

1 cup of fresh oregano leaves

5 teaspoons of pine nuts

1 minced garlic clove

⅓ cup of extra virgin olive oil

½ cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

200 grams of wholemeal tagliatelle

1 crank of Atlantic Sea Salt

Instructions for the pesto: Firstly wash the oregano leaves and remove the stems. Next put all the ingredients into a food processor and process until the mix is completely incorporated and smooth. If you are not eating it immediately then add some extra virgin olive oil and pour it into a jar.
