Easy Turmeric Latte - Recipe
Turmeric is a spice that comes from the turmeric plant, very common in Asian food. Turmeric is arguably the most effective nutritional supplement due to its main active ingredient, curcumin. Curcumin is a natural anti-inflammatory compound, can increase the antioxidant capacity of the body, can boost brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and has benefits against depression.
If you want a healthy alternative to coffee then try this simple turmeric latte! Its growing popularity can be attributed to people only now realising its health benefits.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of maple/agave syrup
Method:
- Firstly pour the milk into a saucepan and cook over high heat until it’s hot but don’t bring it to a boil.
- Remove the milk from the heat and add in the rest of the ingredients.
- Try the milk and feel free to adjust and add more based on your personal preference.
- Alternatively add ice for a summer-drink alternative!
