Easy Turmeric Latte - Recipe

Turmeric is a spice that comes from the turmeric plant, very common in Asian food. Turmeric is arguably the most effective nutritional supplement due to its main active ingredient, curcumin. Curcumin is a natural anti-inflammatory compound, can increase the antioxidant capacity of the body, can boost brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and has benefits against depression. 

If you want a healthy alternative to coffee then try this simple turmeric latte! Its growing popularity can be attributed to people only now realising its health benefits.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of maple/agave syrup

Method:

  1. Firstly pour the milk into a saucepan and cook over high heat until it’s hot but don’t bring it to a boil.
  2. Remove the milk from the heat and add in the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Try the milk and feel free to adjust and add more based on your personal preference.
  4.  Alternatively add ice for a summer-drink alternative!
